Important Announcement Regarding Missouri Content Assessments Passing Scores

At the Missouri Board of Education meeting on June 14, 2022, the Board voted to lower the qualifying scores on the Missouri Content Assessments (MoCA) for all initial teacher certification. This change is effective for all tests taken on and after May 30, 2022.

As a result of this action by the Board, candidates taking any test(s) for teacher initial certification (except Elementary Education Multi-Content) may receive an unofficial score report after testing that does not accurately reflect their passing status. Currently, the unofficial results are based on the previous passing standards and will not reflect the new passing standards. Candidates should wait to receive their official score reports for documentation of their passing status.

Please note that the passing score requirement for each subtest will remain a scaled score of 220 or higher. Note that candidates are not eligible for a refund of any test or registration fees associated with taking the MoCA.
