The test design below describes general assessment information. The framework that follows is a detailed outline that explains the knowledge and skills that this test measures.

Test Design

  • English Language Arts Subtest: 40 multiple-choice questions
  • Mathematics Subtest: 40 multiple-choice questions
  • Science Subtest: 40 multiple-choice questions
  • Social Studies Subtest: 40 multiple-choice questions
Time*
  • English Language Arts Subtest: 1 hour
  • Mathematics Subtest: 1 hour
  • Science Subtest: 1 hour
  • Social Studies Subtest: 1 hour
  • All four subtests: 4 hours of test time (plus a 15-minute break between subtests 2 and 3)
Passing Score 220 per subtest; examinees must pass all four subtests

*Does not include 15-minute CBT tutorial
